The Final Card is Played: Alice in Borderland Season 3 Trailer Unleashes a New Wave of Deadly Games

Arisu and Usagi are back in the Borderland — but this time, they’re separated. With the stakes higher than ever, the Season 3 trailer teases a thrilling and dangerous journey. The new season premieres September 25, 2025, only on Netflix.
🔥 Back in the Borderland
After escaping the Borderland once, Arisu and Usagi are pulled in again. This time, Usagi is abducted by a mysterious scholar obsessed with the afterlife. Arisu returns to save her. However, they are separated and forced to survive apart, each with a new group of players.
Lead actor Kento Yamazaki reflects on the shift:
“Since Arisu and Usagi are split into separate teams, it was interesting to explore the new group dynamics. Over time, the characters have become so beloved that fans can truly empathize with them during life-or-death situations.”
Tao Tsuchiya, who plays Usagi, adds:
“Everything Usagi has experienced in the past seasons has shaped her. I went back and rewatched earlier episodes to stay connected to her journey. With this season telling an original story, I wanted to carry her full arc into every scene.”
🎮 New Games, Higher Stakes
This season introduces the most intense games so far. According to Yamazaki, one scene stood out: a game at a shrine at night where flaming arrows rain down on the players.
“When I read that part in the manga, it blew me away. So, when I saw it in the script, I thought, ‘It’s finally here!’”
Meanwhile, Tsuchiya points to another standout moment — the colorful dice game seen in the trailer.
“As the players grow more desperate, their emotions intensify. This game really shows what Alice in Borderland is about — the will to live and the choices that define you.”
🃏 The Joker Appears
Along with the trailer, Netflix released a new key visual. At the center are Arisu and Usagi, reaching for one another. Behind them looms a sinister Joker card, hinting at a chaotic new force. Below, a black hole-like vortex seems ready to swallow them whole.
Other players, including Ryuji, who reaches for Usagi, and Banda, who exudes menace, surround the pair. Some characters look desperate. Others are determined. Together, they reflect the emotional tension and epic scale of the story.

Season 3 features an original story not found in the manga. Arisu and Usagi must face the unseen “Joker” stage in a last attempt to return home. But with new enemies, dangerous games, and the risk of losing everything, the road ahead is more treacherous than ever.
