The 2025 LIV Golf Team Championship is set to deliver the most competitive and high-stakes format in league history. The finale, taking place August 22–24 at The Cardinal at Saint John’s Resort in Plymouth, Michigan, will see all 48 players from the top 12 teams battle for ultimate bragging rights — and a massive prize purse.
🔥 Key Changes for 2025:
- No first-round byes: All teams start from the quarterfinals.
- Play-In Match: Seeds 12 & 13 must fight for the final spot.
- Live Lineup Advantage: Higher seeds can see opponents’ lineups before choosing theirs.
- Match Play + Stroke Play: First two days use match play; the final day uses cumulative stroke play scores from all four team members.

- 12 teams face off (including the play-in winner)
- Top-seeded captains pick opponents
- Format: 2 singles + 1 alternate-shot match
- First team to win 2 points advances
Saturday, August 23 – Semifinals (Match Play)
- Championship Bracket: 6 quarterfinal winners
- Rankings Bracket: 6 quarterfinal losers
- Format same as Friday
- Top 3 winners in the Championship Bracket move to the title round
Sunday, August 24 – Finals (Stroke Play)
- All 48 players compete
- Each team’s total = sum of all four players’ scores
- Final standings determined across 4 tiers:
- 🏆 1st–3rd: Championship Finalists
- 4th–6th: Semifinal losers (Championship Bracket)
- 7th–9th: Rankings Bracket winners
- 10th–12th: Rankings Bracket losers
- Lowest total score among top 3 = 2025 Team Champion
