Kobe Bryant was lovingly remembered on what would have been his 47th birthday, August 23.
His wife, Vanessa Bryant, and their eldest daughter, Natalia Bryant, each shared heartfelt tributes. Their posts honored Kobe’s memory and marked the passage of five years since the tragic 2020 helicopter crash that took both Kobe and his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna “Gigi” Bryant.
Vanessa and Natalia’s Tributes
On Instagram, Vanessa, 43, posted a photo from a European vacation. In the image, she kissed Kobe on the cheek. Her caption read:
“We love and miss you and Gigi so much. Sending our love to you. Happy birthday, baby.”
Meanwhile, Natalia, 22, posted a playful photo of herself and Kobe copying a nearby statue. She wrote:
“Happy Birthday Daddy ❤️.”
Pau Gasol Also Shares His Love
Additionally, Pau Gasol, Kobe’s longtime friend and former Lakers teammate, posted his own tribute.
“Happy Birthday, hermano. I miss you and love you always ❤️,” he wrote, sharing a game-day photo of the two.
Ongoing Legacy
Earlier this month, on August 8, the Los Angeles Dodgers honored Kobe with a custom bobblehead night. The date was symbolic, as it matched Kobe’s jersey number from the first half of his career.
Kobe’s younger daughters, Bianka (8) and Capri (6), took part in the festivities. Bianka threw out the first pitch to Dodgers star Freddie Freeman, while Capri made the traditional announcement:
“It’s time for Dodgers baseball!”
A Family Still Honoring His Memory
Kobe and Vanessa shared four daughters: Natalia, Gianna, Bianka, and Capri. Although Kobe and Gigi are gone, the Bryant family continues to celebrate their lives through love, remembrance, and special moments.
Last year, Vanessa also posted a heartfelt message on Kobe’s 46th birthday.
“Happy birthday @kobebryant. I love you for now, forever & for always. ❤️,” she wrote at the time.
As each year passes, their tributes serve as a powerful reminder of Kobe’s lasting impact—both on and off the court.
