The Chicago Bulls will officially retire Derrick Rose’s iconic No. 1 jersey on January 24, 2026, during a postgame ceremony at the United Center, following the team’s matchup against the Boston Celtics.
Honoring a Hometown Legend
As part of the celebration, the Bulls will host a special atrium experience, presented by BMO, FanDuel, Giordano’s, and Paylocity, giving fans the chance to commemorate Rose’s unforgettable career. Further details about the night’s ceremony will be announced in the coming months.
To mark today’s announcement, the Bulls are showcasing Derrick Rose graphics outside the United Center and in the atrium between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. Fans are encouraged to stop by and join the festivities.
Four Collectible Giveaways, Four Moments in Time
Throughout the season, the Bulls will also celebrate Derrick’s legacy with four special giveaway nights, where fans can receive limited-edition Rose figurines at entry gates—while supplies last. Each figurine captures a key chapter in his Bulls journey:

After being selected first overall in the 2008 NBA Draft, Rose immediately impressed. He averaged 16.8 points, 6.3 assists, and 3.9 rebounds over 81 games, earning 111 of 120 first-place votes to win Rookie of the Year.

Following a preseason injury in 2015 that fractured his orbital bone, Rose returned wearing a protective face mask. Nevertheless, he started 66 games, averaging 16.4 points, 4.7 assists, and 3.4 rebounds that season.
